My Story
Born and raised in London, now living in Addis Ababa, I’m a writer whose words often arrive unannounced — poems, reflections, children’s stories — all shaped by a life deeply lived.
My background spans law, education, and editorial work, but writing has always been the thread that ties it all together. I draw from experience — as a mother, grandmother, and long-time observer of life’s patterns — to explore themes like resilience, grief, identity, and humour, though no topic is off-limits when the words want in.
I’m currently building this blog as a home for my poetry and personal reflections. I’m also preparing a poetry collection titled Random Memories for publication, and developing a selection of stories written especially for children.
I believe words have a way of finding who they’re meant for. If you’ve found your way here, I trust something will speak to you.

Personal Life
I’m a mother and grandmother — roles that extend far beyond blood. I’ve always found people naturally gravitate to that maternal space in me, whether they’re friends, my children’s friends, or just passing souls in need of grounding.
Outside of writing, I find joy in anything creative: cooking, baking, needlework, drawing — and music, always music. It’s part of what lifts the spirit and softens the load.
What grounds me most is my Faith and my Family. We are Rastafarian, and our spirituality is not something reserved for special days — it’s woven into daily life. It shapes how we live, speak, and hold space for each other.
People often say my words carry compassion, faith, and understanding. I think they mean that I see them — and I offer what I can. Sometimes that’s comfort. Sometimes it’s a poem. Sometimes it’s a laugh in the middle of the madness.
Born in London, I learned early to find humour in darkness — a survival skill that’s served me well, especially now living in Ethiopia, a land of breathtaking extremes that demands resilience and grace in equal measure.
I’m probably what you’d call an ambivert — I can go quiet or light up a room, depending on the moment. I think a lot. Some would say too much. I’d say it keeps the writing flowing and the soul awake. And if I had to name a quirk? A need for things to be just right… balanced out by the ability to find something to laugh about when they’re not.
